Former Seminarian, 28 years old, Bulacan
Normannie is trying to alter the course of his destiny. While in the seminary he felt a sudden leap of faith: he realized he wanted to be a fashion designer.
Eventually, he left the theological college by his own free will. He made a bold turn to the corner of fashion, able to find friends who would train first train him in jewelry-making, then later, in tailoring. For a designer lacking in exposure and experience, his audition for Project Runway Philippines came off surprisingly impressive. And from a road less traveled, Normanie has never been this sure about the new path he’s taking. But, can he truly be the master of his own fate?
What sets you apart from other designers? What makes you an interesting participant?
I have a background in fashion accessories and crown making, so I incorporate ideas from these fields into my designs. I’m quite shy, but I’m ready to face any task and challenge.
Have you gone through formal fashion training before? If not, what is your fashion design background?
No formal education or training. Ang background ko lang: magazines, the Internet, television shows.
Have you joined other design competitions prior to Project Runway Philippines?
Give one word that best describes you as a designer.
