On the second season of Gossip Girl, Serena’s social status continues to rise and her new “It” girl standing ticks Blair - who’s trying to get over several betrayal issues – off. Meanwhile, as Serena and Dan come to terms with their break-up, Dan acquires a literary mentor who pushes him to be tougher. Chuck, on the other hand, helps smoothen the fall of a queen bee and the rise of another. Nate surprises everyone with his scandalous relationship with an older woman while struggling financially. In the meantime, Jenny gets her dream job at Eleanor’s atelier and develops a harmful friendship with a model who pulls her away from her family and school and into the dark adult world of fashion -to the disappointment of her father. Correspondingly, Vanessa’s life also gets turned around by her sister and gets a job that brings her closer to Rufus. This season, we also find Rufus mulling over the dreams he gave up, stressing over which path to pursue and clashing with Jenny, Dan and even Lily. Meanwhile as Lily comes home from her honeymoon as the new Mrs. Bart Bass, she becomes uncertain of the choices she has made and realizes that her new husband knows more about her past than she thought. She also tries to escape the pressures and duties that come with her new social life and attempts to keep Rufus close to her which forces him to draw the line. As a result, Lily, for the first time ever in their history, is the one who feels rejected.

All throughout, there’s one person who keeps an eye on the shifting friendships, rivalries and havoc – that’s Gossip Girl… and it’s what she does best.
